About LüTZCO
LüTZCO is a small business nestled in the Loess Hills of Iowa, where form and function meet in ways that feel both intentional and unexpected. With over 30 years in the construction industry, I’ve been surrounded by countless interpretations of design—from the overly ornate to the beautifully utilitarian. I’ve always been drawn to the in-between—where artisan meets practical, and neither overshadows the other.
LüTZCO began by accident: a leaky pipe and a remodel that pushed me to create what I couldn’t find. I was searching for pieces with a warm, industrial feel—something tactile, clean, and unpretentious, with just a flash of color. Using reclaimed wood, spare metal, and odds and ends from my garage, I built what I envisioned. That simple act of making lit something up in me, and I’ve been creating ever since.
My work blends the raw and the refined: natural woods, industrial metals, clean acrylics, and honest materials brought together with a sense of balance and purpose. Whether it’s furniture, fixtures, or photographs, I try to keep things simple and direct—occasionally breaking the rules with a blur of color or a shift in perspective.
Recently, my creative practice has expanded to include more conceptual work—pieces like Less, which challenge the viewer to sit with absence, erasure, and what gets edited out of the frame. This direction has pushed me into new territory, where form becomes message and art becomes a conversation. LüTZCO now reflects both sides of my creative identity: the builder and the observer, the craftsman and the artist.
Thanks for being here. Supporting small-scale makers and original work matters—and I’m grateful you’ve found your way to LüTZCO.
